AG Martin To Launch Formal Lawsuit Against Product Mart Stores Inc, For Unlawful Layoffs

On November 13, 2022, Product Mart Stores Inc, advised that mass layoffs would begin occurring in response to a major, company-wide system meltdown, due to a full-scale cyber attack which crippled the company's million dollar logisitical system. In response, the company announced that over half of its distribution and logistical force would be laid off.

As a direct result, over 250,000 employees were laid off, resulting in the biggest unemployment rate from one company since 1892 when one of Jesstopia's largest oil producers fired 67 % of its workforce, in preparation for a great depression that never came.

Furthermore, persuant to New Shire State's Labor Law, Title 25, article 6, subsection 254, "No employer due to severe network failure, cause, effect or enact mass lay off efforts in order to recover costs, in such a way that over 50% of a specific workforce is out of work, and is forced to face unemployement without a notice of such impending layoffs of up to 2 months." In failing to provide over two months of notice for a potential layoff, Product Mart Stores Inc violated State Labor Law Title 25, article 6, subsection 254 as well as Title 32, article 2, subsection 51, which states "Employees should be compensated heavily for the time their layoff began until the day their layoff ended, or their employment was terminated."

As such, Product Mart is being sued for not following the labor laws aforementioned and as such the Office Of New Shire's Attorney General and the employees affected by such layoffs are seeking compensation of the compensation they are owed, as well as an additional twenty-two billion in compensatory pay for each of the 250,000 employees.
